Initially, our company primarily focused on providing financial advisory and project management services for student housing and distressed multifamily affordable housing developments. We have expanded into what is now The Optimal Company and offers clients turnkey real estate development and construction services for commercial and multifamily affordable housing properties through two wholly-owned subsidiaries: Optimal Development and Optimal Construction.
Our new business structure allows our Optimal Development team to ideate the real estate development strategy while allowing our Optimal Construction team to focus on our General Construction and Sub-Contracting opportunities. Operating in both the private and public sectors, we at The Optimal Company strive to expand our services throughout the Southeast region. As a National Association of State Contractor License Agencies (NASCLA) general contractor, we have the capability to be licenses as an unlimited commercial general contractor in up to 15 states.

Keven Patterson
Keven R. Patterson is the founder and CEO of The Optimal Company.
Keven has 28 years experience in financial services, commercial real estate development, and general construction. As an entrepreneur, Keven has fused his comprehensive education background, professional experience, and reputation for solid execution to grow and expand the company.
Keven holds a BS from Morehouse College and a MS in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Darrell L. Crapps
Darrell L. Crapps has more than 25 years of ownership and executive management experience.
He has experience in the technology, engineering, logistics and business services sectors, including supporting the Department of Defense and Civilian Agencies in the critical requirements of their global mission. At The Optimal Company, Darrell is focused on new business real estate development and construction opportunities in the South Florida market.
Darrell holds a BA from Morehouse College and a JD from Florida State University.
Clarence B. McCollum
Clarence B. McCollum has more than 25 years experience as a mechanical engineering.
Specializing in the energy and transportation industry. Clarence has extensive training in energy management and renewable energy.
Clarence holds a BS from Morehouse College and a BS and MS in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
